I bought these for my 12-year-old son for X-mas. They are very nice. They're a bit more torn up than I like, but he loves them. There are some metal studs around the front pocket, but they aren't on the back, so he's OK with that too. The length is great. My son is very thin, and needs a belt with these. But, that's OK too. If you don't have a super thin kid, these will probably work well. No adjustable waste, though.
